Medlock make the grade

Having previously supported the LTE Group with a refurbishment of the Cube Building at their Openshaw campus, we were naturally delighted to be asked back to complete further summer modification works, this time in the main campus building.

The project aimed to revitalise both the academic and communal areas on campus, enhancing the learning environment and creating new functional spaces for students and staff alike. Our work primarily focused on two key areas: the first floor classrooms and breakout space and the ground floor learning resource centre.

On the first floor we were tasked with refurbishing a number of classrooms and the breakout space surrounding the main spiral staircase. Each of the areas received new decorative and floor finishes to modernise the interiors for the students.

The most significant part of the project took place on the ground floor where the underutilised learning resource centre underwent a complete remodelling. The space was transformed into four new classrooms whilst reducing the size of the existing learning resource centre. As well as the formation of the new teaching spaces a brand new SEN provision was also created.

With the refurbishment taking place during the summer holiday period we had a limited window to complete the work before the start of the new academic year. Careful coordination of all trades from our site and project management team was key to ensuring an on-time delivery much to the delight of the LTE Group.

We look forward to working with the LTE Group again in the near future.
