Medlock return from lock-down to finish cinema fit-out

Following a 10 week shutdown due to Covid -19, the Medlock team returned to site to put the finishing touches to the £1.2 million conversion of an existing bingo hall into a 4 screen cinema in Hucknall, Nottingham.The scheme involved extensive structural repairs, a full re-roof and the formation of a mezzanine steel framed floor to create the upper screens.  A new lift shaft and passenger lift also had to be built within the existing structure to access the upper screensThe historic past of the old bingo hall was reflected in the various characteristics which were carefully restored and maintained throughout its renovation.The complex location of the existing building meant that the traffic management, and coordination with local residents and business were key to delivering the scheme with the least amount of disruption to the town centre
