Hello Oriental, Manchester

Client: Hotel Oriental

Architect: Bowker Sadler

Duration: 9 months

Value: £1.4m

Situated in Manchester’s charming Circle Square, Hello Oriental is one of the most innovative dining experiences on the Manchester food scene. Laid out across three floors, the Asian-inspired food emporium features two restaurants, a Chinese bakery and an Asian food supermarket.

Medlock fit out the empty shell to create a vibrant and modern take on the Asian dining experience, providing bright colours and high-quality furnishings all intermingled in a way that sings youthful exuberance.

With two of the main retail floors situated underground, the project posed a lot of challenges that Medlock had to think creatively and plan meticulously to overcome. The end product is a grandiose spectacle that has truly put Hello Oriental on the map as one of Manchester’s coolest establishments.

Next time you’re in the area, be sure to stop by for a Bánh mì, some roast Chinese meats or any one of the delicious Asian delicacies they have to offer.
