The Riverside Inn, Cound, Shrewsbury

Client: Greene King

Architect: JS Design

Duration: 24 weeks

Value: £1m

In the heart of the Shropshire countryside sits the postcard-perfect Riverside Inn, a beautiful Grade II Listed pub with a stunning riverbank setting.

Medlock were tasked with a complex restoration of the Chef & Brewer country pub and the six individually-designed bedroom suites on the upper floors, to radically alter the look and feel of the building.

In addition to a new river-facing conservatory extension, a station outbuilding from the former Severn Valley railway line was transformed into the Coach House Bar, an intimate space with outdoor patio area.

The manicured gardens, decking and sun terraces provide generous space for Summer dining, drinking and river fishing, whilst the open fires and timeless interior décor is perfect for those cooler occasions
