Medlock has been brought in to transform The Riverside Inn in the rural Shropshire village of Cound. The idyllic Grade II listed building located on the banks of the river Severn has recently been acquired by Greene King, a pub retailer renowned for operating great public houses all over the country. They turned to Medlock to help them put the Greene King stamp on their new acquisition before it’s rebranded as one of their flagship Chef and Brewer country pubs.As well as the extensive refurbishment of the bar and restaurant, Medlock will also be refitting several first-floor hotel rooms that will be open to the public when the venue reopens this summer. With Medlock’s help, the cosy and quintessentially British atmosphere expected of Greene King pubs will be evident across both the restaurant and the upstairs accomodation. The refurbishment will be supported by a host of new building work. These works include the building of a new conservatory-style extension to increase dining room capacity, a new patio area complete with a free-standing veranda, a decking area with an attention-grabbing sail awning, a picturesque courtyard garden and a new external bar with an accompanying pergola. The project is already underway and is due for completion in June of this year. As always, we’re bringing our passion and commitment to the table to get the best results possible for our client. We can’t wait to see the venue serving thirsty customers again this summer.
