Bright future for local school

Medlock have been appointed to construct a new-build school in Greenfield, Oldham. Bright Futures School founded in 2010 is an independent school dedicated to helping children with autism from ages five up to 16.In April 2018, the school was informed its rented premises were to be sold and so, the hunt for new premises began. Following this, Robert Scott, a local cleaning manufacturing business, offered to fund the build of a new school for Bright Futures on vacant land opposite its Greenfield mill.An existing cattle shed will be demolished to make way for the single-storey building. The school will consist of 15 classrooms, allowing the teachers to work with students on a one-to-one basis. Other works within the contract will include landscaping and car parking.The school is expected to open in January 2020.
