Our association with Miller & Carter, the premium steakhouse brand operated by hospitality behemoth Mitchells & Butlers, is one Medlock is very proud of.

Having collaborated on their Bristol, Newcastle, North Shields and Taunton sites in recent years Sheffield was the location for their latest offering. Situated on Surrey Street in the city centre, just a short stroll away from The Crucible Theatre and 02 Academy, the brief was to strip out and completely renovate a former commercial unit to create a new 180 cover restaurant with a 20-bedroom Innkeeper’s Lodge hotel above.

Dating back to 1893 the building began life as a children’s home to those living in poverty in Sheffield before latterly being occupied by Halifax bank until they vacated the premises in 2017.

A lavish fit out of the restaurant space in the former banking hall at ground and basement level featured full mechanical and electrical system installation and a whole raft of bespoke joinery features to accentuate the opulence of the Miller & Carter brand.

The Inn Keeper’s Lodge hotel situated on the first and second floors feature a selection of family, double and twin rooms for visitors to the Steel City to unwind and relax. The interior fit-out to the bedrooms is contemporary in design, beautifully furnished and fitted to the exacting standards demanded by the project team.
