Manchester College, Openshaw Campus

Client: LTE Group

Architect: Ellis Williams

Duration: 9 weeks

Value: £825k

After delivering a series of improvements at the LTE Group’s Manchester College Wythenshawe campus previously Medlock was once again chosen to deliver upgrades at their Openshaw campus over the recent summer holidays.

The project formed the final phase of a series of modifications to the Cube Building to accommodate an expanded curriculum offering after the disposal of other sites in the LTE Group estate.

On the ground floor we completely remodelled one of the classrooms to provide a state-of-the-art mock hospital ward teaching studio for students in the health and social care faculty. Elsewhere on the ground floor we also refurbished the campus cafeteria and breakout spaces to breathe new life into the social hub of the building.

Further improvements on the first floor saw us transform another former classroom into a much-needed library and digital resource centre along with the w/c areas on all floors of the building.

The works were completed to coincide with the start of the new academic year to a 9-week programme and we look forward to collaborating again with the LTE team in the future.
