Victoria Mill renovation nears completion

Medlock is putting the finishing touches to the renovation of Manchester’s Victoria Mill. The beautiful grade II listed building sits on the banks of the Rochdale Canal and was used as a cotton mill for almost 100 years before ceasing operations in 1960.

Built between 1869 and 1873, the building carries with it a rich history of Manchester’s bygone industrial era. Although its days of spinning cotton are long gone, the heritage of the building has been respected and preserved through Medlock’s conscientious renovation work.

The entire complex has seen a full interior refurbishment, producing eighty-five apartments across five floors, each with two bedrooms and full ensuites. Floors one to four feature magnificent open vaulted ceilings, providing space and unique character.

Across the whole complex, Medlock has also installed a new lift shaft, Mechanical and electrical systems throughout, and a new sprinkler system. With just floors one and two left to complete, the development is very close to completion.

It’s been an honour to work on a building with such a rich history in the city’s industrial heritage. We look forward to delivering the project later this year.
